The charter of St. Yared Orthodox Theological Seminary declares:
The purpose for which this Institution is established is to maintain a Theological Seminary for the education and training of future leaders of both Clergy and Lay Members (Missionaries, Teachers, Evangelists) in Theology, Spirituality and Philosophy, to confer Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates such as are given by Institutions of this type and to do and perform any and all necessary acts to carry into effect the object of the Institution.
The Curriculum shall reflect scholarly research in programs of study designed to prepare professionally, thelogically informed ministers and congregational leaders, both ordained and lay. Being a servant of the church, the Seminary shall provide resources to enable the church to Minister more effectively in a changing world. It shall serve as a resource to enable the church to Minister more effectively in a changing world. It shall also serve as a resource for equipping men and women who are theologically articulate, biblically knowledgeable, spiritually healhty, humanly sensitive and professioanally competent. It shall seeks to create understanding, cooperation, fellowship and ministry among Christians for the furtherance of the Reign of God.
Our Mission is to introduce our church to the peoples of the Western Hemisphere in hope that they will see this great light of Christ and His Church through the spectacles of Ethiopia and join our community unto salvation from the calamity that is to come. Within our church's walls, doctrine and teachings we will provide the individual with tools, skills, amunition, counsel, techniques and exercises to guard their soul against the social, economic, political, technological and spiritual pitfalls of this world.
Our mission is acheived each time we baptise an individual in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. One God. Amen |
